Over Mateusz

Hello, everyone. I am a cum laude (distinction) graduate in Finance and Investments (MSc) and in International Business Administration (BSc). I have been tutoring people in areas such as mathematics, statistics, economics, management, finance and related for more than 5 years and have organized both individual and group lessons. I am also a teaching assistant an university, where I help with lectures, exams and research. As a tutor I usually work with high school and university students for their standard subjects as well as for GMAT and extracurricular competitions. I have personally been a 3-time finalist in an economic knowledge competition for high school students in Poland; meaning that I was ranked in the top 100 out of ca. 10000 participants as well as achieved a GMAT score of 750. My students have already collected 8 such finalist titles in the last 2 years.

Motivatie

I believe that as a well-educated person, I can help the next generation of students to get as much out of their education as possible. I love seeing the "Eureka" moment and hearing that thanks to our effort and conversations someone reached his personal goals and dreams. I have been working in banks and other institutions but teaching is more satisfying as there is direct contact with the person and direct feedback/immediate success rather than just the next task in a very big project. This gives me real satisfaction!

Mijn aanpak

I strongly focus on an individual approach and on serious commitments both on my side and from the student. I do not like memorizing and using ready formulas and, therefore, I emphasize the importance of understanding as well as logical thinking. This way, the students can more easily solve problems that are different from the ones presented in the exercises and are able to spot potential mistakes quickly rather than believing that "whatever the calculator gave is correct". In economics and business, I also try to give many examples. I also try to show analogies in theories and links between various elements in order to create logical connections and associations in student's brain.
