I am currently a third year biomedical sciences student at the Vrije Universiteit finishing my bachelors next year. I have work experience as a microbiologist, working at Eurofins in Zaandam, I also have previous tutoring experience of 5+ years in the subjects biology, maths, chemistry at a high school level (VWO) and biomedical sciences 1st and 2nd year bachelor classes. I have taught students from the ages of 13-16 (highschool) as well as 18-21 (biomedical sciences bachelors level). I also have experience in childcare, ages 1-8 years old and I also currently take care of a 4 year old girl on a weekly basis.
Motivatie
I would like to start tutoring again as I love helping students learn and understand new information. I have always had a passion for learning and I enjoy giving that feeling back to my students. I have had really good experiences with tutoring so far, I find it especially rewarding when my students can see a process in their grades after they have had a few weeks of tutoring with me.
Mijn aanpak
I find it important to understand what my student is struggling with to help them the most I can, therefore on my first meeting with them I usually ask them what they think they need help with: whether it is homework, exams or learning material, I can always try to help. Once the problem is established I build a weekly plan on what we will work on so that there is a sense of planning and organization between me and the student. I also ask the student to send me what they would like to work on the following week in advance so I can plan my lesson/tutoring with them in advance. In addition, each time I meet up with my student I aim to check all the boxes that are planned for that day. I also give small homework/assignments for my students to make for the following week and then go through this with them the following week. I would say I am a patient person as well as capable of explaining the same thing in different ways, I am capable of making things visual for students which is a valuable asset when it comes to tutoring, in my opinion.

Ik wil graag bijles geven omdat ik een passie heb voor het helpen van anderen. Ik haal veel voldoening uit het helpen van iemand die ergens tegenaan loopt. Hierdoor vind ik het super leuk om bijles te geven en blijf ik zeer gemotiveerd om gezamenlijk onze doelen te behalen. Door deze passie heb ik ook gekozen voor een studie in de hoek van de psychologie.

Ik werk gemiddeld 1 middag bij een instituut voor huiswerkbegeleiding en geef daar momenteel bijles Engels en Frans (2VWO / 3HAVO / 6VWO).
Daarnaast verzorg ik een cursus Cambridge Business Engels niveau C1 aan studenten van het ROC Apeldoorn.
